Product Description
Banana Plugs 10 Pack
Banana plugs are used to terminate speaker cable. They are placed on the ends of speaker cable and are a very convenient way of connecting speaker cable to speakers and speaker cable to an A/V receiver. This avoids awkward and potentially risky connections, keeping your valuable home theatre equipment safe.
Normally you would have to unscrew the binding posts on the rear of an A/V receiver to attach bare wire to the speaker terminals. Due to the close proximity of the binding posts to each other this is not only inconvenient and awkward, but poses a potential threat of bare wire touching another binding post and causing a short within the A/V receiver. Banana plugs avoid this risk and inconvenience by directly plugging the banana plug into the binding post.
The same goes for connecting speaker cable to speakers. No need to unscrew and poke wire through binding posts, simply plug the banana plug directly into the binding post.
One thing to be mindful about when purchasing banana plugs is to ensure that the speaker cable will attach to the banana plug securely and easily. There are many banana plugs on the market that look nice but are not convenient when it comes time to attach the speaker cable to the banana plug.
We have personally tested over a dozen banana plugs and have selected a model that is not only a high quality plug, but also attaches to speaker cable securely and easily.
